Our work is for you to observe your emotional life and understand what drives you. You are then in a position to decide if you want to change your response to life or not. My orientation is psychodynamic which involves facilitating a deeper understanding of your thoughts and feelings.
I am a Senior Counsellor in the National Health Service (NHS) and worked as an Honorary Psychotherapist in Adult Mental Health at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals, London. I supervise trainee counsellors in the voluntary sector and experienced clinicians in the NHS. Alongside my private practice I have presented workshops for GPs on counselling.
I specialise in depression and anxiety, life changes, anger, bereavement, and relationship issues. I work with individual adults rather than with couples. My work is either open-ended or time limited. I also offer 16 sessions to help you understand and improve how you relate to others.
Before training in psychodynamic work with adults, I spent 15 years in the corporate world. I have a BA Hons from Leeds University and a Post Graduate Diploma in French from Strasbourg University, France. I am an approved Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy Practitioner, hold a Master of Science in Psychodynamic Counselling from Birkbeck College, London University and a Foundation Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Regent's College, London. I have been an attendee on the Lecture Course at the Institute of Psychoanalysis.
I am an approved provider of psychological therapies for Cigna and WPA and am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and registered member of The British Psychoanalytic Council. I am an approved supervisor with the British Association for Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervision.
