Child and adolescent psychotherapy supports older children, teenagers and young adults with becoming their own person as they engage with the complexity of their relationships and responsibilities. Young people in very this broad age range can present with a difficulties such as social anxiety, worry centred on sexuality and body image, low self esteem and depression. Talking to an adult other than a parent can be transformative. The work finds its level according to individual need and ranges in scale from a few consultations to longer term psychotherapy. Parents of under 18s are typically offered meetings with the psychotherapist at appropriate intervals. For young adults 18-25, please see also the Adults section.
