Dmitry Novikov

I am a group analyst and a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in hospital settings and in private practice.

I specialise in working with people who struggle to connect to their own life experiences and to other people and who have learnt to minimise their pain and worries through dissociation, unhealthy relationships or hyper-compensation in other areas of their lives. I have extensive experience of working with people who survived childhood trauma and who often struggle to find words to speak about their experiences.

I am experienced in treating doctors and other healthcare professionals who are struggling to find a way to combine their professional and personal lives, or who were traumatised during the course of their clinical practice. I offer analytic supervision for practitioners who would like to have a better understanding of their practice.

I have extensive clinical experience of working with people who are stuck in repetitive life patterns which they feel they are unable to change despite being aware of their actions or the origins of their behaviour.

I run a twice-weekly face to face group analytic group and a number of online therapeutic and support groups.

I offer in-person and online individual psychotherapy and work in English and Russian.

I am a member of the Institute of Group Analysis. I’m registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy, and I hold a full registration with a licence to practice with the General Medical Council.
