Dr Damian McCann is a senior psychoanalytic couple psychotherapist and consultant family and systemic psychotherapist and has been part of the Queen Anne Street Practice for the past three years.

For over 25 years, I was employed in the NHS, as a consultant family and systemic psychotherapist working with the mental health needs of children, young people and their families. I currently work at Tavistock Relationships and in private practice as a psychotherapist and supervisor and am also an adjunct faculty member of the International Psychotherapy Institute based in Washington, DC.

I have specialist clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of:

–  Couples in conflict
–  Couples in the process of separation and divorce and its impact on children
–  Parents and families in dispute
–  Individuals, couples and families with concerns relating to gender and sexuality
–  Helping couples during the transition to parenthood
–  Issues relating to parenting

Alongside my practice interests and experience, I publish and lecture widely both nationally and internationally on topics relating to gender and sexuality, violence and abuse in couple relationships and parenting.

I am on the editorial board of Couple & Family Psychoanalysis and am a reviewer of papers submitted for publication to the British Journal of Psychotherapy and the Journal of Family Therapy.

I am a UKCP registered systemic psychotherapist and registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council.
