Exploring the Use of Self-Chosen Labels

Recently joined Jungian Analyst, Leigh Money has published her paper Labels and the Self: Identity Labels as Scaffold  in the  Journal of Analytical Psychology.

The paper, which was published in May 2023, explores how self-selected identity labels may reflect, and even encourage, internal growth. “Neurodiverse,” “genderfluid,” “sex-positive,” “ADHD” and “highly-sensitive” are just some of the labels that people may use when introducing themselves. Understanding the role that the label is playing can lead to greater insight and development.
