Ritu Kalsi

Ms Kalsi is a Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Practitioner Psychologist (Health), Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and fully accredited in delivering Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). She undertook her postgraduate training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) at Goldsmith’s College, University of London.

Ms Kalsi has over 23 years’ experience of working with patients in an in-patient and out-patient basis providing specialist psychological assessments and mental health treatment to patients in NHS and private settings. Her recent NHS experience has been working as a Senior Psychologist at the Maudsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in the Department of Psychological Medicine. She treated patients who were referred by the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team at Kings College Hospital. Prior to this, Ms Kalsi worked at The Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust – a national tertiary centre for heart and lung conditions. She also worked as a Psychologist at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in the Adult Psycho-Oncology Service. In all areas of her work, she has been an integral member of psychiatric liaison teams and worked within a multidisciplinary framework.

Ms Kalsi also has additional experience of working as a psychologist in general adult mental health settings (South West London & St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust), forensic child adolescent mental health (Oxleas NHS Trust) and addictions and substance misuse. Her experience has enhanced her ability to work with a range of patients in different settings, and across the lifespan. She is fully equipped to work with a range of anxiety disorders, depression, adjustment disorders, somatisation disorders and various difficulties adjusting to difficult life situations (career, finances, family, relationships).

Ms Kalsi is trained in a range of psychotherapeutic approaches and therefore can provide:

Ms Kalsi has at least 9 years of experience in also working in private practice and previously worked with Dr Jeremy Pfeffer (Consultant Psychiatrist) at Harley Street on a part time basis whilst also working alongside the NHS. She works with a range of psychotherapists at Queen Anne Street Practice who cross refer patients who require CBT for their care.

Ms Kalsi has a wide scope of experience, knowledge and skills to help people with a range of emotional difficulties. At the heart of her approach is the dedication to empower people to respond to their thoughts and feelings in a healthy way and approach situations that are within their control, whilst also leading a valued life. Ms Kalsi’s approach to her work with patients is warm, collaborative and personable. Ms Kalsi can successfully tailor interventions to suit the needs of all her patients with her ability to utilise multiple models of therapy that inform her clinical practice.

Ms Kalsi currently works only remotely. This clearly offers her clients greater flexibility and accessibility to treatment.
